REVIEW – Having a good flashlight available and ready when you need is harder than it should be. Whether it’s rechargeable or takes batteries, it seems like more of my flashlights are dead than they are ready to go. The IMALENT LD35 EDC flashlight is designed to address that very issue. Read on to see how it stands up to testing.

Design and features

The IMALENT LD35 EDC flashlight is compact, but has some heft to it. It has a full metal body and a small LCD panel. The LCD panel tell you the discharging rate and the lumen strength of the different settings. It also quickly shows the charge as you can see below. The charging case is a great addition to the package, in my opinion. The cover attaches with magnets and comes off easily when you need to access the flashlight. There are several different power settings you can set by holding the power button down and alternating between levels.

Setup

Plug it in to a USB-C charger and charge it up. The case has lights to quickly show charging status.

Performance

There are a surprising number of power settings on this flashlight. The lowest setting is 5 lumens. At this setting, it touts a lifespan of up to 48 hours. It would be nice when you need just a little light and don’t want to blind those around you. Also if you need to a light within a tent without disturbing those around you.

The next highest setting is 100 lumens.

IMALENT LD35 Flashlight 4

300 lumens.

IMALENT LD35 Flashlight 6

IMALENT LD35 Flashlight 8

600 lumens.

IMALENT LD35 Flashlight 16

1200 lumens. Brightest setting and great coverage for such a small flashlight.

The Strobe setting strobes, but catching a picture of that is not possible. It’s definitely visible and in an emergency situation would be easy to see. Also a recipe for a headache if you use it for long.

What I like about the IMALENT LD35 Mini EDC Flashlight

  • Flashlight fits nicely in my palm and is easy to carry around
  • Design looks cool
  • Carrying case is nice and ensures a ready and available charge at all times
  • Charge duration is great

What needs to be improved?

  • Gets pretty warm when operating at 1200 lumens for longer periods. (Might be a benefit when it’s cold, though)

Final thoughts

The IMALENT LD35 EDC flashlight is a nice little flashlight and charging set. I like the design and style. The only issue I had was that on the highest power setting it started getting uncomfortably warm after a while. Like I said above, that might be a nice feature when it’s cold outside. The charging case is like having a set of earbuds with a charging case. Whenever it’s not in use, it’s protected and being recharged for the next use. I definitely recommend this little flashlight.
